Maryland Holiday Events You Won’t Want to Miss
It’s the greatest time of year here at The Daley at Shady Grove. Local events and time for spreading holiday cheer with friends, family and the community abound. How will you celebrate the holidays at The Daley? Get inspired and consider filling your calendar with some of the Maryland holiday events listed below.
Holiday Performances at RIO Washingtonian
In the famous words of Buddy the Elf, the best way to spread holiday cheer is by singing loud for all to hear. Stop by RIO Washingtonian for several holiday performances this year. December 15 provides a full day of entertainment with local middle and high school bands performing from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On December 22, you can catch the Watkins Mills High School Chamber Singers at 1 p.m. and the 42nd Street Singers at 2 p.m. Also be sure to stop by DECK the Bar by Nando’s, a holiday pop up bar where you can munch on light fare from Nando’s Peri Peri and sip on something seasonal. Bring the whole family out for a magical evening at Brookside Gardens’ Garden of Lights. Kids can enjoy browsing the light displays made up of over one million lights and checking out the model trains. End your night with some hot cocoa in the Visitors Center while watching a fantastic musical performance. The Garden of Lights is open every day between now and January 1. Visit between 5:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday or between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Brookside Gardens is an 18-minute drive from The Daley. Admission is $25 per car/van Sunday through Thursday and $30 per car/van Friday and Saturday.
The Downtown Holiday Market is a DC favorite each holiday season. Shop artisan goods and and hundreds of unique gifts. Head to the market from noon to 8 p.m. every day until December 23. The Downtown Holiday Market is an hour drive from The Daley. Additionally, you can hop on the Red Line at Shady Grove Station and arrive in just 49 minutes at the Gallery PI-Chinatown Station.
